Objectives of the Kingston Construction Association

The Kingston Construction Association represents the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional sectors of the construction industry. Serving its members through these objectives:

To foster and advance the interests of those engaged in, or who are directly or indirectly connected with or affected by the construction industry in the Province of Ontario.

To represent the members of the Association in any matter pertaining to the building or construction industry in the Province of Ontario and in all other matters as may appear to be in the best interests of the construction industry

To promote suitable legislation and desirable legislation affecting the industry in all its branches; to provide liaison with Governments for any contemplated legislation by either municipal, provincial or federal authorities in so far as the same may affect the construction industry.

To achieve a closer relationship and a better understanding between the various branches of the industry and to improve and standardize as far as possible the methods of submitting and accepting tenders, as between architect or engineer, general contractor, trade contractor, and owner, as between general contractor and sub-contractor.

To gather accurate statistics relevant to the construction industry and other matters calculated to be of use and assistance to members of the Association.

To bring about greater uniformity in the customs and usages of those engaged in the industry.

To settle differences among its members and to pomote a closer co-operation between the members of the various trades.

To provide offices and other facilities for the dissemination of statistics and other information and for the convenience of the various sections of the Association in holding conferences.

To make such rules and regulations governing the activities of the members as may appear in their best interests; and to do all such things as may directly or indirectly seem to be incidental, conductive, convenient, or proper for the accomplishment of the purposes or the attainment of the objectives of the Association, or expedient for the protection or benefit or the members.
